Oh My!

Browsing through bridal stuff at work, I came across the most beautiful wedding gown I have ever laid eyes on. I have no idea what this would look like on a "real" person, but the pictures make it appear to be absolutely stunning.

Happy Hour

My work day is almost over, which means it is almost time to enjoy some drinks with close friends at a happy hour downtown. Long overdue and much needed.

House Stuff

We are patiently waiting for house to officially close on June 29th. (Keep your fingers crossed for us). Last week was full of packing and moving to Kevin's parent's house so that we can save a little bit of money and house hunt without the stress and time limits.

No one ever tells you how much work packing up an entire house is...especially when you have 2 little four legged friends in the house. Even though he looks photoshopped in this photo, it truly is Lukie in a box.

We then celebrated by feasting on Crabs at Steamers in Bethesda. Because I can't stand the site of eyeballs and such, I ventured for the Crab legs, which were DELISH!

Penny Lane is making herself comfortable at Kevin's parents' house. For some reason, she loves sleeping inside the pillow cases!

I Heart Lady Gaga!

"When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl. Then I say, 'Bitch, you're Lady GaGa, you get up and walk the walk today.' "

A Reflection of My Week...

This was hands down the most stressful week I have had in a very long time. Between the house closing, packing, moving, doctor appointments, and work, I am glad it is over. Hello Weekend! I am not even bothered that I won't get to enjoy the nice weekend weather, lay by the pool, or meet up with friends. Why? Because the week is over!

Weekend Recap

Friday kicked off our summer hours at work so I was able to start my weekend early by leaving around 3:00! I watched a lot of television this weekend as we started and finished Dexter Season 1 on Netflix. It is addicting and oh so good!

Premise: Dexter is a forensic scientist in Miami that specialized in Blood Splatter Analysis during the day. At night, he rids the world of murderers by 'disposing' of them.

Liz's Wedding Weekend was a blast. Friday was a kickoff cook out. Saturday was the wedding party and after party at vegas lounge and sunday was the wedding brunch. The art museum the wedding was held at was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. the food was delicious, and the dj was so fun! she kept everyone (young and old) on the dance floor all night long.

I WANT! I WANT!

I want this Nicole Miller dress so bad! Look at how beautiful it is! If I had money to spend, this dress would be hanging in my closet, and I wouldn't be writing this post.

Can You Really Be Anything You Want To Be?

I am hoping that the answer to this question is, "Yes! Yes it Does!" As I sit here at work today, all I can think about is being anywhere than here. It is true that, on most days, I love my job, but it is also true that while I sit here I think of all the things I need/want to do and how they do not fit into my work schedule.

Arguments for being a house(girlfriend) (fiance) (Wife):
1. I LOVE cooking.
-I could cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for me and kevin every single day without a single complaint.

2. I like cleaning.
-As long as it is a mess I made, Kevin made, my family made, or my guests made. Other than that, I am not a maid so pick up after yourself.

3. I like checking things off "the list."
-I could run all the errands and get all those "little things" marked off of "the list" that hang over my head.

4. I like being healthy.
-I would improve my health by finding the time to put in quality workouts at the gym.

5. I love reading!
-I would have more time to read, which means that I could get through the 49 books on my goodreads.com "to read" list.

6. I love being dolled up!
-I think I would make a good looking house (girlfriend) (fiance) (wife) vacuuming the carpets in pearls and dresses.

Date Night With Beetle

zaytinya - washington, dc

Tonight is Date Night! Woo hoo! Long overdue. We have 8:45 reservations at Zaytinya. Yummy! Zaytinya is a fancy tapas restaurant that Kevin and I had our first "non-date." We always have a great time when we go back. Hopefully he doesn't order octupus and gross me out like the first time.

Holy Smokes!

I can not believe that it is already Friday. I have missed a few days of posting because I have been so very busy with work. I LOVE 4 day work weeks because it makes the days so busy that time just flies.

I have a couple of updates:

1. We SOLD our house! Move out date in June 29th so we are going to be SO VERY busy with the move. Packing is going to be a nightmare but so worth it!

I am reading now reading 3 books because I can't keep focused on a single one!

I have been dying to read The Time Travelers Wife but could never get it at the library because there were so many holds. Now that the movie is out on DVD, I was able to get it at the library. I am only 10 pages in but could not get into it on my 4 hour bus ride back from New York City over Memorial Weekend. I will get back to it soon...

Whenever someone sees Everything is Illuminated in my hand, he or she comments on how good the book is. I keep hearing how hilarious it is but I think I am missing out on the humor and the jokes because I find this book to be annoying. I am waiting for it to live up to the hype of the passerbys. To be fair, I am only 50 pages in so there is still hope.

I started The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night on Wednesday evening and am not impressed. Again, I was going on the hype of others but am not impressed. It is a short book and easy read but the autistic narrator is not keeping my interest. I will finish this one by the end of the weekend so that I can quickly knock it off of my to read list and knock out the other two before it is time to return them to the library.

Getting Back to Real Life...

My NYC trip was F.U.N. I seriously had a BLAST with the much needed J-Bird time. We did typical girl things such as gossip, talk about boys & relationships, dance, shop, drink wine, and watch movies. We saw Sex & The City 2 and it was not good. It had a few "warm, fuzzy" parts to it that made you appreciate your girlfriends and fun times with them but the whole thing just didn't make sense.

Spoiler Alert: Like When Big punishes Carrie for kissing Aiden in the Middle East by giving her a 5 karat black diamond ring that "she has to wear for the rest of her life" is just absurd. If that was me, I would be doing bad things all of the time because that punishment is more like a reward. Yikes!

Now that I am back to my real life in Bethesda and at work, I am even more jealous of sisterfish who is STILL ON HER HONEYMOON in Hawaii!

Also, I don't want to jinx it, but our house is SOLD! I am not "sold" on the idea until I see the BIG RED sign in our yard that reads "SOLD." Supposedly, the people want to move in by June 29th so we need to get to packing up all of our belongings and find a place to go, which as of right now is Kevin's parent's basement!
